gnome-software is the correct source package if it is a bug. But the
warning message you included in the bug description shows up also when
the application launches successfully, so it doesn't help much.
Can you please try to open gnome-software again. If it doesn't launch,

I was trying to report that something is wrong with my installation. I
cannot add or remove programs. The menu ikons give no response. Please
advise if I have reported this to the wrong place.

I go package name from the menu editor. Basically the software-centre
package will not lauch any more
