The libimobiledevice package for Ubuntu was built with --disable-openssl which forces GnuTLS. GnuTLS does not work with the recent iOS10 update. Solution: rebuild the package so that it links against OpenSSL again. This will resolve issues connecting to iOS 10 devices. I tested the latest
