Hey, I don't know how to provide technical information relevant to the problems rhythmbox is having. My computer is just over a month old. It came preinstalled with Gutsy but I immediately upgraded to Hardy. Even in the first few days or so, I was having significant issues with rhythmbox. It frequently crashes/exits when I try to start it up but almost always opens for good after 4 - 6 attempts to open it. It doesn't affect me that much anymore since I put a quick launch icon for it on my panel---I just keep clicking on the launch icon until the window stays up for good. That really shouldn't be happening, though, should it? Rhythmbox also has a tendency to infrequently crash/exit during normal playback, although this does not happen often enough that I can't use it. The fix came out really late last night (I was about to post back that there wasn't a fix) and I don't think it would have made that liveCD. Confirmed. Enabling the artdisplay plugin (gconf key: /apps/rhythmbox/plugins/artdisplay/active) stopped the crashing. I fixed it by clearing my home directory. And then I broke it again by disabling all plugins except for DAAP sharing. Can someone else confirm that turning off some plugins breaks this? I can confirm, what William wrote. I tried to move ./.gnome2/accels/rhythmbox, ./.gnome2/rhythmbox and ./.gconf/apps/rhythmbox, the Music folder and downloaded Podcasts out of the way, but nothing helped. When the segfault first occurred, I realized that I have several seconds to access the GUI before the crash. So I had the chance to disable all plugins before it crashed. But it doesn't help.
