I am using Norwegian as my native language. I only get up menu's in English on the 2.4.0 version of The Gimp on Kubuntu 7.10. I can't find the language files at all on the distro. I don't know. I have installed gimp by Adept manager, and added all I meant was needed. I also was at the GREYCstoration homepage and loaded that plug-in into gimp since the plug-in delivered with gimp is a little bit old. The language selected for Kubuntu is Norwegian, and that works OK. I have checked it. I have the language packages for KDE installed. Not for GNOME. How should I know that? I thought that if gimp (or any other program for that sake) depends on something special, as a special language pack, it is supported. If it works: Thank you! Once more: Thank you! It works as it should, but at least should the installer check that all necessary element were in place. I use KDE, therefore Kubuntu, and install the packages I find interesting. I don't think of that a gnome package need other libraries and language pack than a kde package, that should be handled automatically.
