At least for now, I expect unity-settings-daemon to remain in universe
in case it's useful for attempts to keep Unity going. On the other hand,
that's a pain since the gsettings schemas can't be forked, so there is a
lot of patching to keep schemas around since unity-control-center has
not kept up with gnome-settings-daemon at all.
Ubuntu Desktop Bugs is still subscribed to bugs for this package.
The last time gnome-settings-daemon was merged with Debian was 3.22:
