I did some more testing for this bug. I can't reproduce it using
Communitheme. This seems to be an Ambiance-specific issue.
I can relieably reproduce this every time using the following workflow
on Ambiance and not on Communitheme:
1. Open gnome software
2. Install or uninstall rocketchat

confirmed, there is a similar problem when browsing categories described
on a duplicate
"open gnome-software, select a category and view an application in a
subcategory. I navigate back using the button in the GUI and then select
a different subcategory."
