*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1762952 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1762952 I had the same problem on Xubuntu-18.04 with midnight commander: Alt + Shift + / worked as alt + / and changed keyboard layout. On Xubuntu-16.04 everything worked fine out of the box.
