The only possible cause of this I can think of has now been fixed by the introduction of: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/egl-wayland and rebuilds of mutter which enabled use of it. Does anyone still see this bug in 19.04? ** Changed in: gdm3 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete **
