Well, I still can't reproduce with those steps :/ When the new dialog opens in 6-7 it's the main windows and not the details from the previous step, such there is no < to use... I previously launched it through the UI, so I didn't see the console output; now I've launched it from the terminal. How do you call gnome-software? Here when closing and re-opening it displays the main screen and not the previously open page. [Testing on wayland, in case that matters.] I downloaded a .deb file with Firefox, then opened it with "Ubuntu Software Center", installed it, and then closed the dialog associated with Ubuntu Software Center. Now, opening "Ubuntu Software Center" gets me back to the dialog displaying details about the installed package, and the "back" button in the upper left doesn't work. Killing the gnome-software process and then relaunching the software center gets me back to the software center's main screen. Simple reproducer in a freshly booted system:
- open Ubuntu Software Center
- click on some random package
- close the window
- open Ubuntu Software Center
- attempt to use the back button ("<") in the upper-left corner of the window
