I can confirm the bug on my system as well.
Running 8.04 64bit with firefox 2.0.0.11 64 bit as default browser.
No special steps to reproduce error.

I couldn't produce that bug yet, but looking at line 554 of
/usr/bin/gnome-about, it says:
print '''Warning: could not open %s: %s''' % self.url, e
which produces definetly a TypeError and should be:
print '''Warning: could not open %s: %s''' % (self.url, e)
