So, I entered my username (an email address in this case) and an app password I generated since I have two- factor authentication. The dialog box would go away, but the calendar would not be added. The same problem here with Ubuntu 18.04. This affects me too. I am on ubuntu 18.04 lts. Trying to add a caldav url to gnome-calender, the app doesnt let me push the button "add", although I am pretty sure the url is correct.
