It appears the problem stopped happening in newer GNOME versions so "Fix
Released".

Syslog
Hi Daniel,
At some point the syslog messages stopped being logged for an unknown
reason. This was not preceded by a restart or an installation /
uninstallation of a package or extension. For the past few days I have
tried many things to try to recreate the bug but I have failed.

For some reason, the extensions show as enabled in the bug report. This
is not the case.
