Public bug reported: All of the desktop icons (and conky, etc) suddenly vanish after I drag and drop something into a desktop folder (typically dragging selected text from chrome browser, which normally creates a text file in the folder).
Does not trigger the bug every time, but quite frequently. Once the bug triggers the icon area is useless and requires a system restart to restore the icons and normal functioning. This is a new XPS laptop with Ubuntu 18.04 freshly installed (and little else modified).
