Thanks for your reply amejbil. The bug report that you referred to might
be specific to the Xfce desktop although what you're seeing appears to
be the same.
Now that you've provided a screenshot of the problem I can confirm that
I'm seeing the same as you are. I'm moving the bug report to the gnome-
shell-extension-desktop-icons package for an Ubuntu developer to review
the issue further.
