If this was put in, I would want a way to disable this feature. If I
pause my music, lock the screen, and walk away for a few minutes, I
don't want someone else to be able to resume my music and go to a
different track.

Same behavior in Ubuntu 7.10
Although it might generally not be a good idea to allow key events to
bypass the screensaver, having the multimedia keys working although the
screen is locked would be a nice feature.
