[Bug 195637] Re: Evolution window placement

2008-03-01 Thread anthau
Mint Darnya runs Compiz-Fusion, which is at the heart of some of the
issue, I suspect. By turning off some of the effects (changing to 1x3
workspaces instead of 2x2), I was able to eliminate the behind-the-top-
menu-bar issue. Evo always opening in the same place, rather than where
I moved Evo to before closing, however, still remains a minor annoyance,
though. Please let me know if I can provide further info.

Thanks,

Anthony

[Bug 195637] Re: Evolution window placement

2008-02-29 Thread Matthew Tighe
Are you running compiz (Advanced Desktop Effects turned on?). I remember
Evo doing this to me on a dual-monitor setup (would not realize top
panel was not there). Think it might be under compiz, though.

I'm not seeing that effect under Hardy, though.

[Bug 195637] Re: Evolution window placement

2008-02-26 Thread anthau
** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: evolution

I'm running Evolution 2.12.1-0ubuntu1 on Linux Mint Darnya, which is
built on Gutsy. When I exit and then re-start Evolution, it does not
remember where its window was located on exit.

- Also (don't know if it's related), I have both a top and a bottom panel
- (Mint only has a bottom panel on default, but I added a top one). When
- Evo is not maximized, if I move it to another desktop, rather than
- respecting the top panel, Evo places itself so that the minimize /
- maximize / close bar at the top of the Evo window is hidden behind the
- top panel.
+ *Edit: Discovered the bug in this pargraph affects all moved programs,
+ so please disregard* Also (don't know if it's related), I have both a

Happy to provide other pertinent info about my system; please just ask.
