Can't I'm afraid. Had 167 updates pending when I booted just 10 minutes ago. In
mid-flight it crashed with a segmentation fault and now the system is pretty
much fried (couldn't get a terminal up, and it refused to log me in from VT and
a reboot crashes just after grub)...
In a way it solved
you have instruction on how to fix your installation on bug #201673
