Confirming; this reliably happens for me with gimp 2.4.5-1ubuntu2 under
Hardy with an 'ATI Technologies Inc Radeon RV100 QY [Radeon 7000/VE]'.
There isn't really a fix upstream; there's just a workaround to

On second thought, the workaround could be made part of the default
gimprc, so there should be a task open on gimp. Marking as confirmed.

Gimp brushes leave
I see that light green trace to.
At Debian etch everything worked just worked fine, i sat up ubuntu (Hardy up to
date) i suddenly began to see that trace.
I'm posting here under that bug couse I've got a Radeon VE 7000, too.
