Is this partition in your /etc/fstab? If so, you cannot unmount it as normal user. Yes, the partition is in my /etc/fstab file. I use this account to get updates, and edit configuration files. So why I cant use this account for unmount stuff? /dev/sdb1 is Ubuntu /dev/sdb2 is Otherstuff It is /dev/sdb2 which wont unmount. It is a ext3 partition. On a Samsung SpinPoint T166 250 gb SATA drive.
