I have this bug too. I can confirm that unselecting Show position of pointer when the Control key is pressed fixes the bug. Note that Ctrl- Alt-L (Lock screen), Ctrl-Alt-S (Suspend), and Ctrl-Alt-H (Home folder) break, but Ctrl-Alt-D (Show desktop) and Ctrl-Alt-T (Open terminal) work fine.

I followed the hint from Andy and was able to reproduce the behaviour. With activated Show position of pointer when the Control key is pressed most of my shortcuts are ignored. Strangely, the custom-defined STRG+ALT+T for the terminal works even then. If I de-select the cursor- highlighting, all
