after some days of testing, what i've found is, that this bug only occurs when evolution is auto-started with a saved desktop session (ubuntu hardy, gnome). the bug did not occur as of yet if evolution is started manually. this behaviour, along with another evolution auto- start bug i posted

ok i got a temporary solution from ubuntuforums, where two other people reported the same problem: it seems to be a syncing issue. the emails can be re-synced by dragging them to a dummy folder - where the already appear as synced - and then simple drag them back to inbox. however - this should

this bug occured for the 2nd time today and seems to be correlated with evolution for some reason downloading a particular unread message twice, as has already happened last time. i probably should add that i've been using evolution multiple times daily for about 3 years under previous
