could you try if that's still an issue using the stable intrepid image?

this bug seems to be fixed, at least now my cd drive is found under dev
scd0 which fixes this whole issue.

After each fresh install I have to adjust manually the cdroms entry to match my
hardware.
The current drive is an IDE MultiNorm Burner from LG, I didn't check that with
SATA drives as I don't own one atm.
What further information do you need?
How can I get the exact name my cd/dvd-drive has?
