No way to cancel a CD extraction

I don't think Ubuntu can ship with an audio player/ripper that is missing such
an useful, yet probably easy to implement, function.
This bug is several years old, can we hope it to be fixed for 12.04??

This is frustrating, combined with the fact that the first time you
don't know what format are you ripping to, it's most likely that you
will need to cancel, look all over the preferences to change to mp3,
then realize there's not stop ripping button and wonder if you should
close the Rhythmbox or
This bug is more serious than previously though. I tried extracting
from a scratched CD on my dual core Intel Core 2 Duo running at 2.33
GHz. The extraction appeared to be frozen for twenty minutes, and the
entire time, my load average hovered around 4.58!!! I couldn't even
double click an icon on
I would also like to see this implementation; from my Windows
background, I instinctively began searching for the cancel option when
I realized I wanted to extract a CD using a different format ... but too
late, the extraction had already begun ... (And, from Windows, I fear
abruptly canceling
