Did as upstream suggested: when not viewing in continuous mode, evince indeed jumps to the correct page. This bug can be closed/marked invalid, thanks for your help. Sorry for not including this information in the beginning, here it comes: I am running Ubuntu Hardy, updated around fifteen minutes ago; Evince package version is 2.22.2-0ubuntu1; uname -a gives “Linux system 2.6.24-16-generic #1 SMP Thu Apr 10 13:23:42 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux”. “About Evince Document Viewer” reports “Evince Document Viewer 2.22.2” and “Using poppler 0.6.4 (cairo)”.
