Upstream closed the report. Upstream comment:
CDDA support was removed from totem in August 2007. You can still play audio
CDs if you open the right URI manually (for the GStreamer backend, that'd be
cdda://track-number, so you can still play other tracks by adding cdda://2

But I'm on Xubuntu here, Rhythmbox was not installed by default in my install?
Also, the autoplay for audio cd's starts totem, does this not mean it's the
default in Xubuntu?

Since only Totem is installed by default, I thought one other player
would be enough. Out of curiosity, what's so different with Mplayer and
these two?
Both Sound juicer and Rhythmbox play the cd fully.
I also tested 2 other cds with all four apps (Mplayer, Totem, those
two), and got the same
