You have been subscribed to a public bug: when I issue the command:
sudo /etc/init.d/gdm stop to stop the gnome display manager it all seems to be working fine until I get to the line that reads: running local boot scripts (/etc/rc.local) where it hangs. I've left it sitting there thinking for a few minutes before I go into the terminal mode by pushing: <cntrl> + <alt> + <F1> and reboot the system. Any idea on what the issue could be? ** Affects: gdm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- gdm stop hangs https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/bugs/264885 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
