Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus
When unmounting a Sandisk Sansa e260 MP3 player (in MSC mode) after deleting files, Nautilus gives a prompt that there are files in the garbage bin that must be deleted before removing the drive. Clicking on the option "Empty the garbage bin" results in a file operations window that hangs on preparing, and causes all user files be deleted without warning (contents of the user's Home, contents of mounted drives - the only things that was not deleted were system files and one user folder on a mounted drive that did not have write access for some reason). Selecting "do not empty trash" does not cause any problems. It was my partner that (inadvertently) did this the first time, and I successfully repeated it following the same steps multiple times. This was on a system installed from the 8.10 beta iso, and was updated most recently on 30th of October, with Nautilus version 1:2.24.1-0ubuntu1 ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Nautilus deletes all users directories when unmounting Sandisk Sansa MP3 player in MSC mode https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/291647 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
