Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gdm
I'm using Ubuntu 8.10. While I was listening some music with Rhythmbox and reading a PDF document, suddenly music stopped playing and I noticed all the system was freezed. I used another PC to try to connect with SSH and the system let me connect with SSH. I noticed one process was taking about 100% CPU: it was gdm with process id 6253. I restarted my PC and tried to look in the log files. I noticed these kind of errors: Nov 9 16:03:49 centurion kernel: [10968.276499] BUG: soft lockup - CPU#1 stuck for 61s! Tne GDM version I'm using is 2.20.8-0ubuntu3. I attach also all log files I've so you can investigate better the problem. ** Affects: gdm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- GDM (and also Xorg) freezes: soft lockup - CPU#1 stuck for 61s! https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/295981 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
