Clock freezes here on my 10.10 as well. Anyone can confirm that this has to do with the 'expand' option in the panel properties dialog? This only seems to happen on my system when I uncheck the 'expand' option. Also in the evidence image from the initial bug reporter you can see a panel that is

Now my clock has stopped. I have also lost all my icons in the notification area. They are still there, I can get mouseover tooltips and clicking on them works. If I open the clock applet the current time is running. Doing a 'killall gnome-panel' restarts the whole gnome-panel and gets it working
