I observe this behaviour in rhythmbox 0.12.8-0ubuntu
Copying data to or from an Apple iPod produces multiple prompts to
overwrite files.

thanks Robert, when you do a new revision update better to add a debdiff

- Add a random suffix onto truncated filenames written to iPod - this
stops collisions when copying tracks that
Updated simpler patch as recommended upstream. Tested and works.

please run rhythmbox as: rhythmbox --debug rhythmbox-debug.txt ;
perform the operation in order to reproduce the bug and attach the
resulting file to the report, thanks.

Importance:
Of course, the log is extremely large (10MB) however thanks in part to
it listing every song in my ~5k collection many times over. I've found
the section of it that seems to document only the bug; I'll post that as
a separate attachment.

Just in case this helps, here's just the section that documents the bug.
I tested it by copying over 30 blank MP3s all starting with This is
actually a blank MP3 and not anything else, remember, and the bug came
up a few times.
