there is no option right now to add apport informations to an open bug but that's going to be fixed in jaunty, the usual way is to open a new bug and close the non apport one as duplicate, in this case if there is enough details no need to do that -- Crash when importing mbox

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please try to obtain a backtrace following the instructions at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash and upload the backtrace (as an attachment) to the bug report. This will greatly help us in tracking down

Hi Sebastien, Apport generates a huge amount of data because it includes the coredump. Will the stacktrace be sufficient? I'm attaching it now. p.s. System is 8.10, arch is amd64. ** Attachment added: Stacktrace http://launchpadlibrarian.net/22420398/strace.txt ** Description changed:

the stacktrace is ok but using apport means that the bug is automatically retraced using debug versions and added to the crash database for automatic duplication of identic crashes, it makes the job easier for everybody, do you have a slow internet or concern about sending the crash file over

All right, please advise on how to attach the apport-generated report to this bug, so as not to open a new one? -- Crash when importing mbox https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/327065 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. --
