I reject this bugreport then, we have a open report about explaining
what expert install means for sudo already.

Fixed! Found solution on Ubuntu forums. Problem was that I used expert
installation mode something about a root password being set my account
couldn't use sudo properly.

What happens if you start one of these from the terminal? Start terminal and
type:
sudo update-manager
(for example) and paste the output here.

I've got this exact same bug, and it is really infuriating! Having only just
installed Ubuntu, I can't setup anything!

I encountered exactly the same problem; however, it happened after the
last updating. Before updating, everything were doing perfect.
Otherwise, all other symptoms are the same.
