Chris, I understood that for other people BOTH the regular terminal AND root
terminal fail (i.e., with or w/o gksu execution).
However, if this is NOT the case, then my bug is indeed identical to 328575.

Regular terminal works fine here, only root terminal when started from the
Main menu fails as Chris has stated.

Why not? Your issue is identical. There is an issue with gnome-terminal
where it will not work for anybody when launched with gksu. That means
that the root terminal menu option (which basically runs gksu

Gnome-terminal works fine, ONLY root terminal fails (gksu
/usr/bin/x-terminal-emulator fails to execute). Hence, GConf may be error-free
