note that if you shut down the server there is no way yet that your
client shuts down properly, as long as this isnt solved in a wsecure and
proper way only people logged in locally will be able to shut down the
server.

Ah, ok, I didn't realise that there was also a problem with the client
shutting down properly. I'm not so familiar with LTSP.
