The issue seems an upstream one, it would be nice if somebody having it
could send the bug the to the people writting the software

1) Install either the csmartindent plugin (attached) in ~/.gnome2/gedit/plugins
2) In GEdit, in the plugins list, you'll see the C indent plugin listed.
