it crashes at some other place with a such condition, if somebody wants
to work on a patch he's welcome, other way we will probably wait after
dapper since that's the only bug mentionning the crash and the case to
get it is to edit the xml by hand

2006-04-22 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thanks for your bug. What version of Ubuntu do you use? Does it happen
than you get that from rhythmbox without editing the xml by hand? That
issue is fixed with 0.9.4 which is not planned for dapper, but we can
patch the dapper package probably for that (making the queue_stat_uri()
conditionnal by example) if that happens during a normal utilisation

[Bug 38955] Re: blank location in database entry causes abort

2006-04-22 Thread Phillip Calvin
I'm using Ubuntu 6.06.

The circumstances were somewhat rare, but yes, a blank location can be written
during normal use. I added a file and Rhythmbox crashed while adding the file,
presumably part-way through, hence the missing location element.

However, since Rhythmbox will not start at all until the database is fixed, I'd
say patch it -- newer users that don't know where to look or what to change
could be very bewildered.

If I can reproduce the situation in which Rhythmbox writes the blank location,
I will open a bug for that.
