Thanks for the debugging work. We have a some more things to do to work
on your bug:
A) For all the following debugging use Karmic Koala only (liveCD or
development installation). The upstream developers are currently working
on that version of GPM, and it is the best way we can get the bug fixed
I have tried to suspend with: dbus-send --system --print-reply
--dest=org.freedesktop.Hal /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/computer
org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.SystemPowerManagement.Suspend int32:0
but still get the same bug..
Dont know if it is of any relevance to make other reports like HAL?

Also check the wiki to attach any other relevant messages come across
the DBus and gnome-power-manager in verbose mode.

I will try it alpha 2 as soon as I get a cd to try with, I currently have
ubuntu installed inside windows, (wubi) if that is of any rellevance to the
