The same issue happens when opening the 'Network' and it seems to have
stuffed up my printing abilities too, i cant seem to print to the
Network printer So it seems things like trash:// and network:// and
smb:// urls are crashing it.

If there is a deleted file in trash, clicking the trash-can icon,
crashes Nautilus, and also hides any files on my desktop (as already
reported).
Right-clicking on the trash icon and deleting files in trash makes files
on my desktop visible, and also allows me to open the Deleted Items
Folder in

I've emptied the trash, put one zero-length file into it and tried to
open trash in Nautilus, which unceremoniously crashes. Same thing
happens whether I open the trash from the desktop or from Nautilus.
