The bug appears to have been fixed in Lucid ... I can't speak for
Maverick as I don't

same problem with sftp/sshfs at karmic i386.

Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee.
Shouldn't there be a semi-automated procedure in launchpad for sending
bug reports upstream? It's a bit much to ask ordinary users to submit a
report twice, isn't it? I suspected this was an upstream bug, but it was
just convenient for me to use the built-in bug reporting feature.

Thank you for your bug report. The issue is an upstream one and it would
be nice if somebody having it could send the bug the to the people
writting the software (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME)
