The characters don't overlap in Karmic 9.10 either, although they look more blurry than they do in 10.04 alpha 2, even though in 10.04 alpha 2 they are grey instead of black. Technically, this bug is fixed in Karmic. We could open a new bug for the blurriness in Karmic, but since the blurriness
