This needs someone to triage and to take care of it. There is a patch, which is
rejected upstream because it takes care of notify-osd, which they don't want to
support.
Can someone review my patch??
If you prefer I can split the patch into 2 separate ones

My understanding is that everything should eventually use NOTIFY-OSD or
have the option... perhaps they are working on this already, but if you
have done some work it would be good to use it if possible...
