Yep, the fix from #16 worked for me. I wasn't expecting that change to
apply to MPlayer and VLC, but it did. I'm ready to rock! And by rock, I
mean watch Slayer - War at Warfield...

This problem started for me immediately after upgrading from Jaunty 64

A workaround is to set gstreamer-properties to use X Window System (No
Xv) in the Video tab.
Switching between auto detect and X Window System (No Xv) and
pushing the Test button replicates the problem without
I confirm this bug, using nvidia driver. kgokbulut's fix works perfectly
(without reboot.) The bug might be in xv code, but only gstreamer seems
to trigger it.

Once this bug has occurred other video players are tinted blue, eg. VLC

Hey!
Just letting you know I have discovered another work-around that doesn't
require you to manually set the hue every time you open a video
To implement the workaround, do the following:
1. Open gstreamer-properties (alt+f2, enter gstreamer-properties)
2. Change to the video tab
3.
I'm experiencing the same problem.
To specify further, video backed by xine (like kaffeine DVB) don't experience
the problem immediately. When gstreamer backed video (Totem) is started, all of
it flips (both xine and gestreamer backed playback). Odd thing is, simply
starting the nvidia-settings
thank you for your bug report, what video driver do you use? did you
upgrade some xorg packages before getting the issue or only gstreamer?

Does it only happen in gstreamer based applications or in others too?

Looking in nvidia-settings, HUE is set to 0 so I doubt its bug 395476.
