I have gotten this bug every day for at least a month. It happens on
every boot. I have to run sudo killall gnome-panel every time I start
the computer. I agree this should have a higher priority. Running up
to date Karmic.
** Changed in: gnome-panel (Ubuntu)
Status: New = Confirmed
Here's a screenshot. I can add that I don't seem to get this bug when I
logout and log back in. It only occurs after a reboot or cold boot.
** Attachment added: Screenshot of panel applets failing to load.

He's not the only one. I alos have this issue. Please see the attached
screenshot. That's what I got on first login.
If I log out and log in, all the applets are correctly loaded.
All I can say is, on my machine, the log in sequence is quite long,
especially after a reboot. So may be some too

As an additional not, the first log in has always been long for me. This
issue only appeared after my upgrade to Karmic.

I disagree this is low as it make everything on gnome panel unusable
Set to high for the reason i stated. Gnome panel should always work without
having to use killall New users seeing this problem may not know to use
killall in TTY and they are unable to get help without launchers working.
**
the reason the bug is low is that you are the only one to get it so far
which doesn't make it a blocker for ubuntu
