Hi.
I just came across this because I was having similar problems with my 8GB Sony
microvault. However, isn't this bug the same as #477976? Because that is marked
as solved.
Furthermore, as a temporary fix, I commented the line mentioned in bug #477884
and my flashdrive is detected as a normal

Hi Maharifu, thx for taking a look into it, guess we're talking about
the same issue, I'll mark this one as duplicate and ask in the other one
whether this will be backported to karmic or is a lucid only fix.
Thanks for triaging, and nice to know that I'm not the only one
challenging wih the Sony problem in Ubuntu.

I'm very sorry, but I mistakenly thought that the bug reporting hook,
responsible for collecting extra data, for libmtp was included with Ubuntu.
Instead I had written a custom one and placed it on my system, making me think
it was on every system.
(I also gave you the wrong source package

The Sony Cybershot camer uses the MTP protocol, so this could be a bug in
libmtp8.
Could you please execute the command 'apport-collect -p libmtp8 459380 with
