Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus
I can see a link to a CD disc on the desktop even though there is no CD in the CD-ROM. If I double-click it, the CD Creator pops up. If I right- click it and eject...the CD-ROM opens and the link disappers. But when I close the drive (WITHOUT inserting a disc), the link comes back just the same. It seems that this problem is not always reproducible. I notice that sometimes the CD-ROM is empty and there is no link. After a few days of normal use (reading and burning CDs) I might notice the buggy behavior returns. But I am not sure if there is a particular CD or sequence of actions that cause it. My cd-rom operates normally in all other respects: burning CDs, auto-mounting ACTUAL CDs, reading....etc. An important caveat: rebooting does NOT help. In fact, I notice that while this problem is active, I will see several CD-ROM related error msgs in the boot up output.
