Cannot empty trash container within Evolution v 2.28.1. Revceive the error
"Error while expunging folder". Problem occurred after installation of Ubun
Update on - "Unable to Expunge/Empty the Delete (Trash) Folder"
1) Archived my e-mails from Evolution vers. 2.28.1
2) Fresh install of Ubuntu 10.4 (LTS) I386 - (wiping completely Ubuntu 9.10
from the system)
3) Restored the old Archived e-mails to the new version of Evolution vers.

Additional background Info:
The Delete (Trash) Folder has been working OK (i.e. Deleting Items when
Logging Out or Highlighting individual messages and using Expunge
).
Then about 3-5 days ago (~24/5/10) noticed that Deleted Items were not
being removed from the Trash Folder so closed down/resta
I am a new user of UBUNTU so I have limited skills in command line commands.
Highly delighted with the complete package just this problem encountered so far.

re: as suggested in previous bug report, have put 'CAMEL_DEBUG=all
evolution >& evo.log' into terminal
and have (very large) file ready to send to whoever needs it
should i send this file to someone in particular? or add it as an
attachment here? (though its a large file)

I have the same problem. Likewise Evolution does not empty the folder
on exit.
I have tried some other ways of emptying the folder from searching
through Launchpad, but none of them have worked. The folder is growing
and growing in size.

'deleted items' is what the folder is called in my Evolution, but yes,
its the trash
all email accounts are pop
if I understand right, 'purge' means delete all in trash? in my
evolution if I right click on 'deleted items' folder - I've got 'Empty
deleted items' as an option

does purge works there? what do you call the deleted items is that the
trash ? are you using imap or pop?
