I tore apart this laptop and am running 10.04 on another laptop. So, last I knew it was a problem but not on every machine. If it is not a problem for anyone else, I won't put the laptop back together and disable all suspend/hibernate settings in gnome-power- manager by setting them to blank

Reassigning this bug to gnome-power-manager, since it's GNOME-specific. suguru, if you disable *all* suspend/hibernate settings in gnome-power- manager (setting them all to 'blank screen'), do you still experience this problem? ** Package changed: acpi-support (Ubuntu) = gnome-power-manager
