I have the same problem with DVD+RW and Brasero on Ubuntu 9.10. I
remember having the same problem on Ubuntu 8.04, but I was able to use
the CD/DVD Creator then to bypass Brasero. In Ubuntu 9.10, however,
CD/DVD Creator uses Brasero to blank DVD+-RW, so I have no way to avoid
this problem.

Hi Pedro. I had the opportunity to test brasero using sudo. I placed a
cd-rw burned, long time ago, with a windows program. It didn't appear on
my CD/DVD unit and brasero didn't detect either so, I started brasero as
sudo and there was my cd. I could erase and burn again with my
favourites mp3.
that sound like a problem with your permissions rather than a bug in
brasero, did you burn the disc using sudo as well?

I have this same problem with DVD+RW disks. I am using Ubuntu 9.10,
kernel 2.6.31-15, 64bit, Brasero 2.28.2.
When I blank a disk that was recorded by a DVD video recorder I am not
able to access the disk as a normal user. The disk doesn't show up on
the desktop and Brasero doesn't see it. If I
