Binary package hint: evolution

In some folders, messages that should be there are not displayed. I have
experienced it in Inbox and some folders I've created. However, when I
look at ./evolution/local... files, those mails are there. I managed to
identify the problem, I think. Within the file, messages are separated
by three empty lines. However, if the first line contains one character
(that looks like a space, but it is not a space), then the rest of the
file is not displayed. I can manually remove this character in the text
editor and everything displays correct. I have also problems in other
folders where messages tend to disappear from the view, but still reside
in respective files. BTW. Two POP3 providers, Evolution 2.26.1, Ubuntu
9.04
