Public bug reported:

After inserting a commercial DVD entitled "Patton," either cdrom0 opens
and closes immediately or, if I persist in attempts to open cdrom0
separately and start the video, a message indicating that the source has
an error is displayed. I am running Ubuntu 9.10 on an Intel Pentium-5
machine with dual-boot capability; Windows XP Pro SP3 is the other
operating system. I have tried other DVDs on this machine running
Ubuntu 9.10, and they all open and play using cdrom0 just fine. The
"Patton" DVD opens and runs just fine on another Linux machine I own, as
well on another Pentium-5 machine running Windows XP Home SP3. I'm
baffled. Any suggestions?

cdrom0 will not play a commercial DVD video: "Patton." It either closes
immediately, or says an error has occured. This DVD plays on my other Linux
machine, as well as Windows machines.
